Clepsydra is one of my favorite cone geysers in Yellowstone National Park. Located in Lower Geyser Basin, It rises nearly continuously to heights of 45 feet - no unpredictable wait. The name Clepsydra stems from the Greek word for water clock. T. B. Comstock bestowed this name during the 1878 Captain Jones expedition when eruptions occurred consistently every three minutes. The geyser began to spout continuously only after the 1959 Hebgen Lake earthquake.
